Global challenges, such as overconsumption of natural resources, various types of environmental pollution and health issues, the impacts of climate change, and loss of biodiversity have become increasingly evident. Societies are now more aware of the challenges than ever, and understand more deeply that sustainability is essential to economic success and environmental protection. In the chemical industry, process and product sustainability becomes a focal point in deriving feasible solutions for its sustainable development. In this direction, global effort and international collaboration can contribute greatly.

Since 2007, the international conferences on Sustainable Chemical Product and Process Engineering (SCPPE) have been very successfully held triennially with sponsorship from China NSF, US NSF, and other organizations and attracted a large number of attendees from around the world. As the 5th SCPPE event, the 2019 SCPPE is being organized by Tianjin University, Tianjin, China.

Getting to Tianjin


By Train

There are four railway stations in Tianjin. Tianjin station is the primary and busiest station. The West station is the transportation hub of Beijing-Tianjin and Beijing-Shanghai railways. The South station is an intermediate stop along Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway. It mainly operates bullet trains to/from Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou and other cities in southern China. Yujiapu station is along the extension line of Beijing-Tianjin railway and mainly serves passengers to Tianjin Binhai new district.More details about Tianjin City can be found at website:

By Air

Passengers can directly fly to Tianjin Binhai International Airport (13 km away from the city centre). The airport supplies both domestic and international air routes connecting it with over 50 destinations home and abroad. With convenient transportation links, passengers can easily get to Tianjin center by airport shuttle bus, metro (line 2) and taxi. In addition, international passengers can fly to Beijing Capital International Airport and transfer to Tianjin by coach (take ca. 2h 30min), taxi (ca. 2h) and Beijing-Tianjin intercity high speed railway (ca. 2h). There is no train direct to Tianjin from Beijing Capital International Airport. Passengers can get to Beijing South Station by metro and transfer to Tianjin by intercity high speed railway.

By taxi: 10 minutes and cost: 12-15 RMB
By metro: Take Line 9 to Dawangzhuang and exit from C or D.
3. From Tianjin West Railway Station:
By taxi: 25 minutes and cost: 20-25 RMB
